Browser PI charts can be used to display any Annual Target types. For more information on Annual Target types and their usage in Classic Charts please see the Classic help here . This guide will explain how to add an Annual Target series to a Browser PI chart using alternative Annual Target Types.
Creating the Chart
Target types are plotted just like any other series in Browser Charts. In our example, we have a PI which uses both the standard ‘Annual Target’ in addition to the ‘Forecasted Target’ type.
We will start by creating a PI Trend chart using our PI:
For more information on building a PI Trend Chart, please see our 'Trend Chart' guide.
So now we have built our Trend Chart we can include our Target series. To do this, click on the PI name in the ‘Data Sources’ section of the Chart well. This opens a menu.
Select ‘Add Line Series’ to open the ‘New Series’ modal.
Click ‘Save & Close’.
This new series is still based on the ‘Values’ column of the PI. We’ll need to change this to draw from the ‘Annual Target’ column. To do this, select your new line series under the ‘Data Class’ section and select ‘Columns’ from the drop down menu.
Click on the ‘Annual Targets’ tab, and search for your target type. Here we’ll select ‘Annual’ to use the standard ‘Annual Target’ type.
Different Annual Target types can be added using the same process. Click on the PI name under data sources and select ‘Add Area Series’.
Click on the new series, and select ‘Columns’. This time we’ll choose the ‘Forecast’ target type from the ‘Annual Target’ tab.
Here you can see our completed Chart, displaying two target types against the PI values.
