What will be included in a release?
Updates to the application are usually a mixture of product roadmap items, bug fixes and customer enhancements.
If you have an open incident ticket with the Support Team, you will be notified if a resolution for your issue has been released. Likewise, if we have your organisations name held against an enhancement request we will try and reach out to you to explain that your feature has been implemented.
Release Notification Emails
At least 48 hours before a planned release, notification emails will be sent out to any customers subscribed to our mailing list. This notification will include:
- A brief overview of changes to the application;
- Scheduled downtime by region;
- Link to a release webinar (where applicable);
- Link to the full 'What's new?' document, listing all released changes to the app.
After the Release
Once the updates have been released, the next time you login to the app you will be using the new version. If an update has been made to Classic, you will need to re-download the application via the 'Go To' menu to resolve any errors on launch.
Following the release the support team will be available to assist you with any queries about the new functionality. Often new documentation can be found on the Support Portal for new features/large changes to functionality which we hope will answer any questions you may have.
FAQ
Can I keep the old version of Pentana Risk?
Pentana Risk always operates on a single live application version across all our customers, so an old version cannot be retained by any customer.
Will my application customisation be affected?
Any custom configuration (customer fields and strings, module configuration, etc) will be supported in the new version unless stated otherwise.
Will there be any scheduled downtime?
The release notification email will include an outline of any scheduled downtime in the application. The status page will also display any scheduled downtime.
How often can we expect a release?
Pentana Risk operates on a six monthly release schedule. Occasionally releases may be made outside of these windows when a key feature or functionality is required by the business.
