This article will explain how to include a Benchmarking series in your Browser Charts. Benchmarking series can be plotted against PI value series in the Browser Charts module. This Benchmark series behaves like any other Charts series, and can be customised also.
Creating the Trend Chart
For more information on creating PI Trend charts please see the ‘Trend Charts’ guide.
We’ll use the PI named ‘BV10’ as this is a statutory PI and so has benchmarking data against it.
Once we’ve selected BV10, we’ll choose to use the months collection frequency:
Our Trend Chart now looks like this:
Including the Benchmark data
Once our basic Trend chart has been completed we need to add in a Benchmark series. Under the Set Up panel, select BV10:
Choose ‘Add Line Series’ to create our new line.
Use the same date settings as before, using the ‘Months’ collection period again:
This is just plotting the ‘Months-Value’ column, so we need to change the data type:
We’ll select the ‘Benchmarks’ tab, and search for ‘All England – Median’
Our chart now displays the Benchmark values against the monthly values:
