Create and Administer Action Types
- A new Action Type can be created by clicking on the 'Action Types' heading at the top left of the page, and selecting 'New Action Type'
- To edit an existing Action Type, select it from the list on the top left panel, and this will display all the current settings for that type:
- Name, icon and description: this can be edited by clicking on the Action Type name and clicking on 'Edit' in the drop-down menu.
- Default Ownerships: which users or roles are included in each Ownership level when a new Action of this type is created. This can be edited by clicking on the heading and selecting the Ownership level that you wish to amend.
- Actions in this Action Type: existing Actions may be changed to this Action Type by clicking on the heading and searching for them in the 'Move Actions' modal.
- First Tab: The first tab of the Action Notebook may be edited using this drag-and-drop option.
- First Tab Title: a text field with a limit of 32 characters.
- Panel layout: drag the existing panels to change their layout within the first-tab. Click on the 'x' to remove panels.
- Add/Hide new panels: the drop-down box contains any panels which have not been included in the first tab already.
For more information on confirming the First Tab see our Guide here: How to I configure the 'First Tab'?
Administer Expected Outcomes
In the 'Action Settings' page, click on the 'Expected Outcomes' panel title:
Select 'Manage' to go to the management page.
To create a new Expected Outcome, click on the title menu and select 'New Expected Outcome':
Enter a title (and icon if required) and select 'Save and Close'.
To Administer your existing Expected Outcomes, left click on one to highlight the row or 'CTRL' and left click to highlight more than one.
Click on the title menu to access a number of options:
Note: Duplicate will only be available if one Expected Outcome is selected.
To edit an Expected Outcomes title and icon, click on the 'Title' in the list view to open the edit modal.
Create Code Formats
Code formats allow you to have a serialised sequence of Codes, all based on the same alphanumeric format. Each subsequent Action created will increment the value of the code, while retaining the prefix set here.
Two values can be set for a Code Format:
Title - Enter a title for the new code format. Mandatory short text field.
Number Format - Enter the format for the Code. The number zero represents a numerical auto-coding. For example: 'ENV000' would produce a Code like: 'ENV123'.
0 |
Output data will have as many digits as number of zeros used in the mask; for example, if you've entered 00000 in your format and you have the number 123 in your data, then this will display as 00123. |
# |
Output data will not show unnecessary 0s. |
. (dot) |
Used to show where the decimal point is expected to fall. |
£ |
Place the £ sign where you want it to appear in your number. |
% or '%' |
Place the % sign where you want it to appear in your number. Or you can enclose the % sign in single quotes. Note: the system will automatically enclose the % sign in single quotes when you click the Save button. |
+ or - symbols |
Place the + or - symbol where you want this to appear in your number, i.e. +##.00 will make the number "123.4" show as "+123.40". |
' (single quote) |
This enables you to use a # or single quote symbol within your format, i.e. '#'##.00 applied to "123.4" will give you "#123.40". |
