When you have created a Date Range, you are able to choose which columns to want to display in the Date Range and in what order. See the How can I set up a basic PI Date Range? article for more information on adding this field to your report layout.
There are 4 steps to customising Date Ranges within a Report Layout:
To begin selecting and arranging the Date Range columns, select the Date Range on the Report Layout and then select the Arrange Columns button to bring up the Wizard.
Choose Layout
This Menu allows you to select how the Date Range columns are decided.
- This will allow you to select the specific columns you want to display in the Date Range, it will also override the settings within the Date Range on the Report in Report Central.
- Selecting this option will automatically select columns for the Date Range from Reports that are currently using this Layout. You will still be able to add and remove columns to the Date Range.
- This will revert/keep the Date Range to the standard column arrangement.
Once you have selected an option, click 'Next' to continue.
Choose Columns
If you chose one of the first two options on the previous menu, you will then be asked to choose what columns you would like in the Date Range. You can Click the 'Dots-in-the-box' next to each section to add and remove columns. Please note that if you chose the Second option on the previous page, some fields may have been automatically added.
Once you are happy with your column selection, click next to continue.
Choose Frame
If you are using a tabular layout, you will be asked to choose the frame for your Date Range, which determines if the data is displayed either horizontally or vertically. However, if you chose to include the Notes field as a column, you will also get the choice to include horizontal with a notes field underneath and vertical with a notes field to the right.
Once you have selected a frame, click next to continue.
Arrange Columns
The final process is arranging the Columns. At this stage, you will be presented with your selected frame containing your chosen fields. To arrange these fields, click on the field you want to move and drag it over to where you want it to go.
Tip: When you are moving fields the red square represents the field you are moving and the red circle shows you where you are placing it.
Once you are happy with you column arrangement select 'Finish' to close the menu. If at any time you which to make any changes you can select the back button to take you back to the previous menu.
