Creating the Report Layout
Scorecard reports are built similarly to reporting on other tree-structured items such as Actions and Risks (see our 'Working with Tree Structures in Reports' guide for more information).
Scorecard report layouts allow you to access all the different layout types for Actions, PIs and Risks, in addition to reporting on other hierarchy elements such as Notes and Documents held against hierarchy objects themselves.
When creating your Report Layout, you will see a dropdown list in the Layout designer toolbar:
This allows you to select the layout type you are currently building.
We’re on the Scorecard level so we can click on the fields tab and drag and drop in the fields that relate to the Scorecard itself as the following example shows:
Once happy with the layout of this level, we can choose the next level from the drop-down, i.e.:
You’ll then get a blank page for the selected level. Continue in this way adding the relevant fields for each level of the Scorecard that you wish to show on your report.
When finished, give your layout a name (on the layout tab) and save this record.
Creating the Report Query
With the layout created we can now create the report. Go to Report Central and click on the New button, then choose New Report. From the dialog box displayed choose Scorecard Reports from the Core Reports group:
The report has a number of tabs, which is where you query on which elements from the Scorecards you wish to show on your report.
For example you may want to show everything for one particular scorecard; in this case you would choose the Scorecard Tab and select the relevant one.
However, if you want to filter by Actions or PIs then the filter options for these can be setup on their respective tab.
The Date Ranges tab works in conjunction with the PIs so you can show on the data values that you need within the PI section of the report.
For more information on each of the filter settings see the Report Central section on the online help.
